Love does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking together in the same direction.

More Politics
DW and I spent the day in Springfield attending the Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts Legislation Day. The new governor sent someone to talk about his agenda as far as fire protection. It turned into somewhat of a bitch session. The last governor swept the fire protection funds. Hopefully this one will do better. I am more concerned about the EMS side though. I guess that is the Trapp politician in me. Maybe someday all my efforts will pay off by making It better for other EMTs.
A New Hobby
I am taking a pottery class on Wednesday nights. I loved the potter's wheel when I was in high school so when I saw the class I had to take it. It is so fun. I have created some nice pieces on the wheel but I'm not so creative by hand though.

What a Day!
Yippee! I managed to actually finish and file our taxes today! Even with all the chaos in our lives right now. Dan & I watched Landon since Joanne is still in the hospital with little Ethan. I have forgotten how much attention little ones need. Grandpa Dan kept him occupied while I finished up the taxes.... until we got a fire call. Then he went on the fire call. He came back somewhat crippled when he hurt his foot as he got off the ladder truck. I believe he needs an xray but he won't do that. I have determined that the only way to get him to do what I want is to ask him not to do it. Since I suggested an xray might be in order, I imagine that won't happen until the injury becomes unbearable for him. Otherwise we had a ton of precious moments today. First we both got to sleep in and spend some quiet time together this morning before Landon came over, then Landon played all day (tickle, tickle is his favorite) and then I got the taxes done. Even when Dan & Landon were cranky from not taking a nap it wasn't bad and didn't last too long. Still I am glad my kids are grown. I forgot how much work they were.

The Best Gift
So, we recently had discussion at work about the best gift our spouse has ever given. My husband seems to top everyone when it comes to the gift department. I have been given so much over the years. The best one however, (guys you may want to pay attention here) was when he enrolled me in the bra and panty of the month club. Yes, each month I received a perfectly sized and matched sexy bra and panty appropriately themed (halloween was black, christmas was red, etc.) It also had a chocolate and scented sachet. Very nice and one which he received many benefits from too. There are other gifts that were equally creative but I don't have time or room to list them all right now. I will in the future, detail further romantic gestures (for our posterity to remember and learn by) that Dan has done. So stay tuned. Unfortunately I am not as creative as Dan when it comes to gift giving, but he is easy to please and always wants the same thing anyway. I do apply some creativity in how it is given though. Thanks Dan! I still love you after 25 years!
