The mystery music

My cell phone rings, I answer. Music plays on the other end. Sometimes it's sweet, sometimes its funny but mostly its a sentimental love song. This has been going on for many years. At Christmas time it is Santa laughing. Some of you have also been prey of this mysterious prankster. The latest song I heard earlier this week made me laugh. This is because it has been a discussion between Dan and I about where to find happiness since there is so much depression and sadness in the world. I maintain that happiness is a feeling and we control our feelings through our thought patterns. Therefore we must look inwards and find inner peace to find true happiness. He believes that happiness comes from others. There is some truth to both sides. Anyway I put his song to music and dug up some old photos to prove that when times are roughest is when we can look back and see the most happiness.

Dan & Kendall fighting a fire

This is a recent fire in Nauvoo that we went to. Here is a picture of the Gallaher men hard at work.

The Challenge

I love to get roses from Dan and have been very lucky to get them many times throughout the year not just on special occasions. But part of the fun of getting them is seeing how long we can keep them alive. I have tried a lot of different techniques over the years from the "flower food" to adding sugar. Right now I have the latest rose on my table that Dan got me when he stopped by the grocery store several weeks ago. This rose has risen to our challenge and is surviving beautifully with no additional additives. The picture above is the rose after week 1. Below is a picture of the rose at the end of week 2. Impressive Huh?
