A Busy April

OK I am finally updating my blog. Thanks for the many reminders. April has been very busy thus far. Joanne, mom and I have been taking course 2 of the cake decorating class. Here are some of our creations:

With all this activity we wore little Ethan out.

Landon came to my house to decorate Easter eggs. I had to work on Easter Sunday so this was the extent of the holiday for us until a later date.

I also went to a pampered chef party and picked up a few new kitchen gadgets. I bought a stoneware pizza pan. Robert and I made homemade pizza. It was awesome. Joanne gave me a recipe for some really good pizza crust. I think I can tolerate homemade pizza since I have control over what it is made of. MMMMM and I get to use my homemade sauce that I canned with my homegrown tomatoes last year.

Then we attended my niece's wedding. Here are a few photos of the reception.

Dan ate what?

So this past week Dan and I went to an employee recognition banquet for my job. I was getting a five year award. (Not usually my thing but there was a bonus involved.) Anyway, it must have been a little too long and boring because Dan actually ate his salad! I would never have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. He actually leaned over and whispered to me "I ate my salad.. it was a little different.." I said, "Oh my gosh... That was even made out of SPINACH!" Who knew after years of trying the creative approach and failing, that it would take boredom for him to finally get a healthier appetite. LOL! When the kids were small I would get them to eat carrots by letting them pretend they were rabbits. This worked for a short period of time. At least until dad made it known he wasn't going to eat "rabbit food" and ordered a pizza. So for my kids and grandkids..... Dad (grandpa)is finally eating rabbit food and he has survived!

Robert's Home!!!

Yippee!! We made a quick trip to Utah this past weekend to help move Robert back home. Once again we drove straight through, only this time we made a detour to California. (thought we would check out an new ambulance for the fire dept) Left Sunday morning and got to California on Monday. it took 27 hours 40 minutes to drive 1958 miles. Then we went to Utah, loaded Roberts truck and drove back. Got home on Wednesday morning. Some would think that would be a long time to have to spend in a car together but we are used to it. Dan likes to talk and I like to listen so it works out well. LOL. We did stop at some of the same rest stops as before and noticed some of our favorite ones had changed. Our favorite covered wagon has disappeared. Funny it was replaced with this one below and a new viewing camera.

Robert stopped to view the wildlife.

So now that Robert is home we can update our family portrait. Haven't had one since May 2008. It is really neat to see how our family has changed over the years. I think I will try to post all of our family portraits if I can get them scanned in. I have most hanging on my walls and it is really cool to compare them.
