


Well, I finally made it back into the garden. I had to pick all the tomatos and peppers. So yesterday was my only day off this week. (I am working overtime again) The gardens were very muddy and I was totally covered in mud by the time I got everything picked. Lots of nice vegetables though. Last night I stayed up all night canning it all. I canned 25 quarts of taco sauce and 13 quarts of spaghetti sauce. I found new recipes for them that are just awesome. The spaghetti sauce is just like Ragu. There are tons more vegetables to can so more canning will be needed. Since our family schedules are so crazy we will just have to do like we did last year and take the time as it comes. Dan has been helping around the house a lot this year and I think I will be able spend more time canning when I am off instead of doing other duties. Sarah was very helpful while we were on vacation and managed to organize my cabinets. They looked awesome! Thanks Sarah! I have some stuff to take to good will now when I get the chance. I am also looking for a large crock to make sauerkaraut this year. Last year we did 3 jars of a very simplified recipe. My jar hasn't been opened yet so I don't know how it turned out. at our house, it's hard to beat the competition I get from the fast food restaurants. But I will keep trying. Sigh....
