My Graduation Advice

All of our kids have officially graduated as of May 24th 2009. Robert had a graduation barbeque party today. It rained some but that didn't bother us. We got our canopy tent out and grilled out anyway. As he makes his way through this crazy world I can only pass on some advice and hope he listens and learns from others mistakes. There are many choices in life and I hope that my kids will always make good ones. Remember "The Happpiest person is the one that finds that what he SHOULD be doing and what he IS doing, are the same thing."

Just Keeping Up

This appears to be the beginning of another busy summer. Robert is in the midst of graduation ceremonies and parties. He is also working and trying to finish EMT-Basic practicals. Dan and I have been putting in the garden. This year Dan has his head in the game and has even built me a fence to keep the deer out! He also has been mowing my mothers yard to get ahead of that since it was so bad after it got away from us last year. To those of you that have not seen it, DW has conquered the jungle! Amazing what he can do when he puts his mind to it. I think he is returning to his youthful self. Maybe his midlife crisis is over huh? Today he even put in a second strawberry patch for me! Meanwhile I tried to help by putting mom's garden in. Not easy while still working two jobs and evaluating EMT students. I also have two pottery classes left. My projects so far are coming along fine. WE are back to our walks and have even been on the tandem bike a couple of times. Not too much though because of DW's foot. I have had to massage it nearly every day to relieve some of the pain. Fortunately we took a massage class together in February. I actually enjoy it. Right now life is busy but good!

The case of the wandering clothes hamper.

I have gotten used to my husband's idiosyncrasies but some things till puzzle me. Dan hates the clothes hamper. I know this to be true because his clothes never make it to it. I first noticed this many years ago and thought that maybe it just wasn't placed in a convenient place. At that time his clothes always remained in a pile near the back door. My logical conclusion was to move the clothes hamper near to the back door so he could conveniently get out of his work clothes and then drop them into the clothes hamper. However, it remained empty. I then noticed the pile of clothes appeared in the bathroom next to the shower. Once again I moved the hamper to make his life easier. This went on for several other spots. I finally gave up. My clothes hamper now stays in one spot where I can use it. Dan's current spot is to drape his clothes over a dining room chair. Sigh!!!!!
